Claire* came to us for help because she was fired for being pregnant. She didn't know what to do and didn't have enough money to pay her rent. She spoke to an adviser at Citizens Advice North Lancashire who did a benefits check for her to help her work out which benefits she could claim. We then referred Claire for a meeting with our employment specialist who was able to advise Claire what to do about work and how to approach her employer. Claire is now on Universal Credit, has applied for a Sure Start Maternity Grant and Healthy Start Vouchers, and is getting help with her employment situation.
