We welcome the support announced for renters. The King spoke of 'greater rights and protections' for renters, including a plan to end no fault evictions.
We welcome the support announced for workers' rights - including parental leave rights, sick pay and the banning of zero hour contracts.
We look forward to more details on how the Government will meet its promise to deliver 1.5 million extra houses, and whether this will include affordable, social housing.
We were disappointed that there was no mention of whether the Household Support Fund will be extended, and no mention of scrapping the two child benefit cap. Joanna Young, CEO at Citizens Advice North Lancashire, said: 'Tackling child poverty has to be a priority for this Government.'
